After a recollection of my favorite characters, I realize that a lot of my choices are quite ironic given the series in which they come from.

Let's take -Kururu Sumeragi- from Air Gear for example.

98% of the females in Air Gear usually have large bust sizes, are seen at least once wearing provocative or scantily clad outfits, and are often to frequently subjected to fanservice, especially Ringo and Simca whether be it intentional ...

I doubt many people will bother to reply, but oh well. So anyways:

Do you like or have liked a manga for something other than it's selling point?

Meaning that you like a particular series for a reason that is outside its genre.

For example, you like Naruto because of homages to Japanese Mythology and not the ninja action.

Here's mine:

Gantz - It's an action/sci-fi manga that mainly sells with its gratuitous violence and breasts, kinda like Elfen Lied. However, unlike Elfen ...

Gah. This manga. It is so cute.

It does not require pink sparkly hearts or the use of standard moe-blob formulas.

All it needs is an exuberant five year-old girl who is totally ignorant of the world around her. Then funny antics ensue as she discovers even the most normal of things.

Both this and Azumanga Daioh makes Kiyohiko Azuma my second favorite author, right next to Eiichiro Oda.

Ena Ayase would be my favorite character in this series because she's a great fisher.

Anyone ever read a series that you particularly dislike, but love a character in the said series? If so, why?

For me, it'd be Air Gear. I used to love reading it, but the recent chapters have been full of disappointment, and then I got fed up and dropped the series altogether.

However, I am still quite fond of a certain character in the series, Kururu Sumeragi. Heck, she's still my #1 favorite character ever, even after almost two years. Which usually doesn't happen, since I'm ...

You may or may not read this wall of text, I'm typing this in part to vent my rage in a civil manner.

I don't know anymore. After reading the entire series of Strawberry 100%, I found it quite touching, but at the same time I felt some serious furious rage inside me, and I even had to vent my anger out by typing it out. I went through 8 volumes in one whole Saturday because I wanted to see Aya (Main Female Protagonist) ...

Hm... I'm not sure if this exactly belongs here... but anyways:

Post your collection of manga and/or other related items here.

I have a special shelf for my KHR and Air Gear series, and the rest of my collection is on my desk.

And I also have a very crappy camera, so the quality isn't very good.

Just click on the spoilers to see.

Spoiler:

My KHR Shelf. All of my KHR related things go here. It's pretty new, though.

So there's not much in here...
