| This is usually a heated topic/discussion. So I was wondering, what are your opinions on this? I personally like anime because it's got the noise, music, sound effects, and voices to make the show come to life. The only reason I don't too much manga is because, I'm up all for imaginations, but sometimes I just feel like it's not as exciting as anime since you kind of have to imagine it all in your head/to yourself. _________________ | Quote: | | Ah I've got it.... we make a movie and have someone yell, HOLY SH17 IT'S FORT GOD!!! |

| Playing the Devil's Advocate, here. I preferred the Pet Shop of Horrors manga than I did the anime. Seeing as manga normally has pictures, you don't have to imagine everything. You also get the choice to pick how you think the voice should sound instead of it being picked for you in anime. Manga also has the added advantage of being brought up and continued over long periods of time without having to worry about voice or change pitches. You also don't have to worry about crappy, special effects in mangas. Reading, with pictures, also enhances one's ability to think in a more imaginative way, and gives the reader time to go back and look closely at whatever they want, whenever they want. Manga is also portable; you can carry it virtually everywhere and look at it anywhere you want without picture and sound quality loss. And as another added bonus, overall, people have liked manga stories, or the way they go, than their anime counterparts.

| I've never actually read a manga so I'm gonna have to say anime. Anime I like more just because of the animations, sounds, and songs. Mangas don't have opening songs or at least I don't think they do. Also with anime if you watch it subbed you can become a very fast reader. Anime can also be portable if you have a psp or iPod. |

| And as I refuted that point already | Quote: | | Manga is also portable; you can carry it virtually everywhere and look at it anywhere you want without picture and sound quality loss. |
No picture or quality loss. I personally wouldn't want to watch an entire anime series on an ipod, it's too small. It's also has to come out pixelated and the sound quality, it wouldn't even compare to if I watched it on a non-portable device.
At least manga keeps everything the same.
I also don't always like every single theme song someone puts out for an anime.
If you read more, you'll become a fast reader, too. And not everyone likes subbed anime, or watches subbed anime. Also, if I am watching a subbed anime, and I really don't like the voice, well I guess I can't just turn off the volume, because you might not know who's speaking! |

| Well as I said I've never read a manga so it's hard for me to compare but I don't know I just don't see me reading manga. To hard to find them and then I actually have to turn pages! That's so much work compared to clicking play lol. Portable wise if you had a laptop then it could be bigger. But I do agree about manga quality not changing that is one plus to that side. |

| well for me; it's manga. hands down. Well because manga is original plot/story. Also some animes don't even go by the story plot. Also that is why some manga have drama Cd's which I own a couple xD. _________________ Banner made by me; my rp character. |

| I don't read much manga, so anime it is. Although I am disappointed some times when the anime stops at a certain period where the manga has like... 10 more volumes (Air Gear).
I used to read a ton of mainstream manga, but lately I find the bookstore isle filled with really weird people, and I really don't like to tiptoe between all the bodies that litter the floor. And most of the manga are all bent at the bindings.... but thats a different rant.
Anyways, there are good and bad of both, so to me, this battle is just splitting hairs.
Oh one thing, when you read a manga, everyone would know what your reading by the cover, while its hard to figure out what your watching on an ipod. |

| Personally I perfer manga. Certain mangaka draw in certain ways, which to me is never depicted well in the animes. Like in Kamikaze Kaito Jeanne, I tought the anime art quality never lived up to Arina Taemura's art. They don't have pretty cover pages either. Also, anime's have these annoying things called fillers.... uhg fillers. Manga, on the other hand, don't really have fillers. I'm going to use Naruto for my filler point, over 100 episodes of fillers and they didn't animate kakashi gaiden! Also the anime usually never shows the bonus stories that they have at the end of the manga (spare Ultra Maniac for animating 1 bonus story).

| What causes fillers though...?
If the anime was adapted from an anime, there shouldn't be any fillers, unless the manga is on going. Then they would have to produce episodes that don't have anything to do with the story until the manga chapters come out. Most animes I have seen have about ~26 episodes.... and the only animes I see people complain about fillers are Bleach and Naruto... which have around 150+ episodes, and still ongoing. |

| Definitely manga. Though Manga to Anime is sometimes good there are fillers and cut stuff. Anime to Maga though is simply horrendous. _________________ Also Fuko=LOVE! |

| I'm going to stick with my manga, or mangoes as I like to call them, just because I'm more into books. For one, sometimes, anime will have something known as QUALITY, which means the animation quality is really lacking. Although, QUALITY is usually more prevalent in more popular series like Naruto and Bleach, especially in the filler episodes. A lot of anime adaptions of manga I read have lesser quality than I'd like, like DNAngel, KHR, and Air Gear. Two, some anime adaptions only exist to promote the manga, like Air Gear and Fruits Basket, where the series stops at 26 episodes even though there's clearly a lot more story after that. Because of that, characters that appear later in the story, like Kururu Sumeragi, don't get a chance to be animated, which makes me a sad panda. And finally, some anime adaptions are completely different from their manga counterparts, like FMA and Pokemon. I'm not saying the anime is bad, but the manga has a more interesting story, imo, especially Pokemon. Although there are plenty of well animated series, like Cowboy Bebop and TTGL, I'm going to go and say that 90% of Japanese animated television series (that I've watched, at least) are low budgeted and not worth my time watching. Movies and OVAs don't count, since they usually get bigger budgets. And that's my two cents. |
